I have been a registered blood donor since I was 16 years old. My Dad is a donor as well and he gives platelets and plasma as well as blood. Currently only 1in 30 people give blood, but 1in 3 people will need blood in their lifetime. My blood I give each time can save at least 3 different lives. Donating blood is pretty easy really and it can be lots of fun chatting with the nurses. This is a charity which is really "saving lives" on a daily basis and, like all blood banks around the world, are desperate for more people to become regular donors. Have a look into it - go to the website in your country and find out exactly how easy it is.
In Australia the website is http://www.donateblood.com.au . Send me your stories about donating blood, or being the recipient.
Love and light,
Sjana x
