The Maldives - Villingili Resort

The Maldives - Villingili Resort

I’m lucky enough to be able to say that I’ve been to the Maldives more than once... Growing up I always thought the Maldives was a place that was reserved only for honeymooners and super rich people. And over the last few years, I’ve been pleasantly surprised to learn otherwise; seeing as that I am neither married nor rich and this last trip there was my third time (and counting!).

The only even slightly annoying part about the Maldives is the trip there! From Australia it is a MINIMUM of 2-3 flights with frustratingly long stop overs. And then a speed boat ride to your island. But trust me, once you’re there it is so much more than worth it!

The trip this time was with a bunch of other influencers and photographers. A company called Vampped offered to have me join their group, so of course I took the opportunity for a few days of amazing companionship in an exquisite destination. I mean, who could say “no” to waking up in a villa over the water, riding a bike beneath a canopy of palm trees to a buffet breakfast overlooking the turquoise waters and white sand beaches…
We were staying at the Shangri La Resort, which was only about a five minute boat ride from the island of Gan where we flew in to - so convenient!
Days were spent frolicking on the sand and lazing in the water, snorkeling under the water, cruising and exploring and looking to spot amazing sealife, discovering cute photo spots, eating great food and getting lots and lots of peace and content!
I know that may sound a little sedate and quiet to some, but to me it is pure heaven! I love nothing more than going on photo mission in tropical heavens.

Here’s a bit of what we got up to:
