I’ve ALWAYS wanted to live in a treehouse somewhere tropical... above the treetops, away from the hustle and bustle of the overwhelming chaos that reality can be and living a simple, healthy and free lifestyle. It’d have an outdoor shower, a view to infinity (and beyond!), and I’d eat and live a conscious, environmentally friendly life!
Never did I ever think I would actually be able to experience this though! Especially somewhere as insanely beautiful as the Maldives!!
My brother Sam and I stayed at a resort called Amilla Fushi. We spent the first four nights on the island in a Wellness Treehouse, and loved every minute of it!
It had an infinity pool extending into a canopy of palm trees, an outdoor shower, a very large deck (perfect for those daily stretching and exercises!), a modern living room and office desk, a big buffet for the mini bar of healthy foods delivered daily at 10:30am and 4pm, tv, air conditioning, a second bedroom with ensuite which was converted into our very own treatment/spa room, a spacious bedroom and a very impressive master ensuite.
The Treehouse was great because not only did it feel like a little slice of secluded paradise, and it was! But it came with a LIFESTYLE!
We had everything from daily movement and workout Bodyism sessions with the Resort's resident trainer James Burke, to morning and evening healthy snacks delivered to our room, a variety of freshly squeezed daily juices stocked up in the mini-bar fridge, superfood and protein powders, a unique Health and wellness menu for in room dining (the best warm zucchini and carrot noodle Bolognese I have ever had!!) and even daily massage sessions!
The schedule meant that we were not only keeping busy, active and entertained, but we were also subsequently getting CLOSER to our fitness goals rather than further away from them.. how many holidays can you say THAT about?
After the four days on the programme, I was not only feeling refreshed, clean and energised, inspired and motivated to continue the routine, but had also acquired knowledge about certain workouts/exercises and facts that I could keep with me on the rest of our stay, travels and life!
I honestly wish there were more opportunities to integrate this kind of experience with a relaxing, restorative holiday. For me, it was such an attractive and fulfilling bonus, and after experiencing it, I love it even more...
I just wanted to move in and call it home to be honest!
Love and light,
