Dubai was so much more than I ever could have imagined! I was excited to see Dubai, but wasn't prepared to enjoy it quite that much to be honest! It was certainly a rather pleasant surprise! My brother Sam and I stopped over in Abu Dhabi on our way home from the Seychelles.
With only 72 hrs free we decided to get a bus to Dubai (about 2 hrs drive) and explore the amazing place it is! See what all the hype is about you know! We stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton and the Four Seasons Hotel - BOTH were outrageous! Like next level gorgeous! Double Tree was situated in such a prime location! Right near lots of shops, activities and coastal walks filled with restaurants, cafes, boutiques and quirky little coconut stalls! Perfect for the hot weather!
We squeezed in as much as we could - everything from hot air balloon rides over the desert at sunrise, a 4WD desert safari and cultural experience, flyboarding, viewing the city from the top of the Burj Khalifa and we even did a zip line off the 30th floor of a building, across the Dubai Mall fountain shooting directly past the Burj! It was amazing! And every activity we did was an opportunity to learn more about the history and culture of this amazing place - the people were absolutely beautiful and kind.
I'd definitely recommend doing flyboarding and the 4WD desert safari!!! I can't even explain how epic they were!! At the Four Seasons we found ourselves totally relaxed and feeling miles away from the busy and hectic world! We secured ourselves a pool cabana, endless fruit and relaxed in the sunshine.. The best way to refresh!
Definitely go to Dubai - a month would be great, but even 72 hours makes for an experience NEVER to be forgotten.
